The north-west: the zone that should never feel heavy
Guests arrive and leave. Orders are packed and sent. A loan is arranged and repaid. The north-west is read as the zone of everything that comes in from outside and moves on again, and it behaves best when nothing in it is fixed in place for good.

What belongs here
A guest room. The clearest fit: a room people come to and leave from.
A bedroom. The north-west is one of the good zones for sleep, and suits the room of someone who travels or who will move on, such as a grown child.
Finished goods. In a business, stock that is ready to go out sits well here. It is why the north-west is the zone we look at first in a shop or warehouse whose stock does not move.
A pair of white horses, if you want a traditional object for the zone. It is optional.
What to keep out
Long-term storage. Archive boxes, things kept "just in case", heavy cabinets that are never opened. The zone is about movement, and dead weight is the opposite of it.
Red and green. Neither suits a space zone.

A white, silver, grey or off-white gate suits an entrance on this side. The zone's metal is stainless steel and its tape colour is white.
The north-west corner of a plot
On a corner plot, the north-west corner is a good one. The practice asks for two things there: keep construction on that corner light, and keep white lights on. Roads that strike the plot from the north-west are a different matter, covered in T-junctions, corner plots and the roads around you.
Next door: the west
The north-west's neighbour on one side is west-north-west, the zone of letting go, which suits the toilet and the washing machine. On the other side is north-north-west, a water zone of attraction and joy. Further round is the west, which is as comfortable with weight as the north-west is uncomfortable with it: the west zone.
