Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Under the UK's PECR regulations we must tell you which we use and get your consent for the ones that are not strictly necessary.
What this site sets
Strictly necessary — no consent required
| Cookie | Set by | Why |
|---|---|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart |
WooCommerce | Remembers what is in your basket |
wp_woocommerce_session_* |
WooCommerce | Keeps your basket across pages |
PHPSESSID |
WordPress | Your session |
These are deleted when you close the browser or shortly after.
Advertising — only with your consent
The journal, the free Direction Finder and the opening chapters of the book show ads from Google AdSense. Before any advertising cookie is set, Google's own consent message asks you to choose. If you agree, Google and its partners may set cookies such as these:
| Cookie | Set by | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads, __gpi |
Google AdSense, on aurahealing.uk | Limits how often you see the same ad, and measures ads | Up to 13 months |
__eoi |
Google AdSense | Fraud prevention and ad delivery | Up to 6 months |
IDE, DSID |
Google, on doubleclick.net | Personalised advertising across sites | Up to 13 months |
FCCDCF, FCNEC |
Google's consent message | Remembers the choice you made | Up to 13 months |
If you decline, Google may still show ads that are not chosen from your browsing, and sets only what it needs to remember your choice and prevent fraud. Google explains each cookie on its advertising cookies page, and you can switch off personalised ads in Ads Settings.
Analytics. None. We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics.
What this site does NOT set
No analytics. No social media pixels. No advertising cookies at all on the pages where you pay — the shop, checkout, the paid report, the booking form — or for members reading the book.
The Direction Finder stores nothing at all — not even in local storage. Map tiles come from Esri and address search from OpenStreetMap; both see a request from our server, not a cookie from you.
Changing your mind
Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time; look for "Privacy" or "Site settings". Deleting this site's cookies brings Google's consent message back, so you can choose again. Blocking the necessary ones will stop the basket working.
